The New Design Road Water Treatment Plant is the largest plant operated by the Frederick County Bureau of Water and Sewer. This expansion project included the installation of a new pre-sedimentation basin system, rapid mixers, flocculation basins, new sedimentation basins, filters, filter effluent pumps, a UV disinfection system, a new chemical feed system and residuals building, a 1.3 million gallon storage water tank, a new high-service pumping facility, and a new medium voltage backup power generation system.

Singleton successfully replaced the New Design Plant’s existing electrical distribution systems with minimal interruption to the facility’s occupants. The work included new 35kV fused air switches, 35kv to 4160kV 5000kVa oil-filled transformers, a 4160V metal enclosed switchgear, two new 4160V to 480V 3000kVa oil-filled transformers, a 480V metal-enclosed switchgear, two 4160V 16000 kW diesel generators, and a PLC-controlled 4160V paralleling switchgear.
